1 ATTENTION Refer to the appropriate shop manual for your vehicle to obtain specifi c service procedures for this part If you do not have a service manual or lack the skill to install this part it is recommended that you seek the services of a qualifi ed technician Pay special attention to all cautions and warnings included in the shop manual Read and follow all instructions carefully Disclaimer Even though every attempt is made to ensure this information is complete and accurate it is impossible to account for all possible circumstances or situations Please consult with a qualifi ed auto technician before attempting to perform any work you are not qualifi ed to do Automobiles can be hazardous to work on be sure to take all necessary safety precautions Failure to do so may result in property damage or personal injury Certain motor vehicle standards and performance requirements may apply to your motor vehicle such as Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards by the National Highway Traffi c Safety Administration Be sure that your work is performed in accordance with such standards and that you do not disable any motor vehicle safety feature TECH NOTES DOOR TRIM PANEL FIT PROCEDURE Dodge Caravan Chrysler Voyager and Town Country 2001 03 A modifi cation may be required to accommodate an air duct feature on the 2001 Dodge RS Minivan After installation of a new window regulator the door trim panel might not assemble on the door because of contact with the window regulator Please reference the service manual for all other installation and diagnostic procedures Tools Electric Heat Gun Procedure 1 Prepare Trim Panel for installation after all work is complete on the door The panel clips and water shield should be in place and ready 2 Some Door Panels have insulating material over the Air Duct Remove this insulation for the area that will be heated Figure 1 3 Use an Electric Heat Gun to carefully heat the Air Duct on the Trim Panel The lower middle edge below the Identifi cation Markings should be the area that is heated until pliable Figure 1 AVOID OVERHEATING 4 Install the door switch connectors and handle rod quickly while the plastic is still soft The plastic will be pliable for at least a minute 5 Install the trim panel and press in place while the air duct is still soft and pliable Item 1 Air duct 2 Identifi cation markings 3 Apply heat to this location 4 Insulation material 741 823
