JDB1019 PT 70 79 0004 Application Problem Cause Solution Note All Chrysler vehicles with Flash technology PCMs The wrong calibration was flashed into the PCM Now the PCM cannot be flashed back to the original calibration Chrysler TSB 18 029 07 states that if a calibration is randomly selected and then flashed the PCM cannot be reflashed to a different calibration The PCM can only be reprogrammed to a more recent version of that new calibration Chrysler s Flash site www techauthority com allows four different ways to search for a calibration also called part number The screen shot below shows those search options Unless Part Number search is used multiple calibrations may be listed that could cause the stated problem if the wrong calibration is chosen Using the Part Number option ensures that only those calibrations relating to the original part are selectable Hence the random selection problem is avoided To use the Part Number method start by retrieving the part number from the memory of the original PCM If that is not possible the number can be obtained from the label on the old unit It can also be found on the original selling invoice or by contacting Chrysler This ProTech bulletin is supplied as technical information only and is not an authorization for repair Recommended Method of Selecting Chrysler Flash Calibrations
